Don't Say 02:58
Don’t say I never loved you, ‘cause I love you more than ever today. Don’t say I never show you, ‘cause you know I hate to see you that way. Somewhere in my parents’ house, the Lord waits patiently I read my books, I sing my songs, but in the end where will I be? Your biblical name scares the hell out of me, and lately I’m not sure what I believe. I feel you in songs, but I don’t feel you for long - why don’t you stay around constantly? Don’t say I never loved you, ‘cause I love you more than ever today. Don’t say I never show you, ‘cause you know I hate to see you that way. Don’t say I never come home Don’t say that I don’t It’s your fault you don’t look for me Don’t say that I’m wrong I’ve been here for so long I know that one day you’ll see me I don’t know what to do to make you see I’m worth your time I know you wanna love me but you won’t fall for my best lines When we shook it out, I was so sure you were mine, but you shook away from me I feel you when you sing, but that don’t mean anything - why don’t you stay around constantly? Don’t say I never loved you, ‘cause I love you more than ever today. Don’t say I never show you, ‘cause you know I hate to see you that way. Don’t say I never come home Don’t say that I don’t It’s your fault you don’t look for me Don’t say that I’m wrong I’ve been here for so long I know that one day you’ll see me

Emily 04:06
Emily, take my hand now, would you please? Take my hand any marry me, would you please, Emily? This isn’t the first time you took my breath away And I hope to God it’s not the last (I hope to God it’s not the last) Time keeps moving on and I’m afraid that by the time you love me, I’ll be buried six feet under. When have I ever said mean things I didn’t wanna take back? When have I ever done mean things I didn’t later regret? Emily, take my hand now, would you please? Take my hand any marry me, would you please, Emily? This isn’t the first time you tried to get away, And I hope to God that it’s the last (I hope to God that it’s the last) Time keeps pressing on , and I’m afraid that by the time you meet me, You’ll be married to some sucker. When have I ever said mean things I didn’t wanna take back? When have I ever done mean things I didn’t later regret? Emily, take my hand now, would you please? Take my hand any marry me, would you please, Emily? This can’t be happening I swear we hang out every Monday I still think this would work out Yeah, I think this will work out Emily, take my hand now, would you please? Take my hand any marry me, would you please, Emily?

Ugly 02:56
Something this ugly could never sound pretty, So I guess I’ll just settle for this I’m sick of acting like an asshole when all you ever wanted Was to catch up with somebody you miss It’s so hard to be around me, But it’s so hard to be around you All I ever wanted was to be lost and never found All you ever wanted was to say goodbye Never said it wouldn’t be like this I’m not sorry that it is Never said it wouldn’t end up like this I’m not sorry that it did Something this honest could never spoken, But I guess I should just say it I’m sick of breathing for the both of us when all you ever told me Was your lungs are still working for it It’s so hard to breathe around me, But it’s so hard to breathe around you Never said it wouldn’t be like this I’m not sorry that it is Never said it wouldn’t end up like this I’m not sorry that it did

Nashville 03:54
Got my head on straight, oh baby girl I promise you, I promise the world [And everything after] If that’s not enough, I guess it’s my luck I’ll just pull down the sun [And the moon to match her] You know that it’s true, you got me falling for you I’m head over heels [With nothing to catch me] I’ll be fine I swear, just as long as I have you in the end Save my soul Baby take my hand and then you’ll see You’re the only one out there for me I’d drop all these plans for us Set off in the summer sun, never looking back [Our hands on the dashboard] Go anywhere we wanted, from the misty shores of Scotland To Cairo’s desert sands [Or the streets of Nashville] We’d see all the sights and stay up all night Drinking wine until we slept [Dreaming til morning] When we wake up, we’ll do it all over again Save my soul Baby take my hand and then you’ll see You’re the only one out there for me Last night I had a dream it was just you and I Had a smile on your face, and your eyes were like stars in the sky I pulled you in close and whispered “I’ll never let go” You kissed my lips, it wasn’t a dream at all

TMNT 03:16
I do way too much work these days, I don’t have any time to play video games I don’t wanna see my bills overdue, And I really don’t wanna have to say “ree-yoo” I can’t say goodbye to Macho Man, Deep down in my heart, he’ll always be the champ I don’t wanna make sure all this rhymes, I just wanna drive around in friggin’ Optimus Prime Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Hulk Hogan and Macho Man I wanna be a kid again Rocko, Darkwing, Sam & Max Bobby, Bucky, Ness & Jeff I wanna be a kid again Crash Test Dummies were the coolest kids, They took it all in fun and never said we’re through I don’t really know how to fight, But I can QCF+P and that’s alright! I won’t sing the Konami code, Cera did that when he knocked up Juno I won’t admit to getting old, I’ve got the sweater on, yeah, but I’m just cold Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Hulk Hogan and Macho Man I wanna be a kid again Rocko, Darkwing, Sam & Max Bobby, Bucky, Ness & Jeff I wanna be a kid again If I could do it again

Wax & String 02:36
I’ve never been tied down with so much wax and strings And these God damn hills are making it hard to breathe Another day means another night when I’m left to wonder why Why I haven’t left this mess, why I haven’t learned to fly I’ll spread my wings, Cause I’m going places I never knew And don’t you worry I won’t be leaving without you I’ll spread my wings, I’m pushing off, I won’t be back ‘til I find myself And what it means to fly I’ve sat too long the dust is piled all around And the safety of this nest you know is keeping me held down I’ll stand up tall and dust off my bones, I’ve finally had enough No point to sit, no point to blame, this life is my own I’ll spread my wings, Cause I’m going places I never knew And don’t you worry I won’t be leaving without you I’ll spread my wings, I’m pushing off, I won’t be back ‘til I find myself And what it means to fly

Vices 03:14
I think it’s safe to say You bring out the worst in me I’ll have another drink Or maybe I’ll have another three And once I finish drowning I’ll head up the stairs to sleep And take the side of the bed Where you used to be We might as well face it, we all have our vices We’ve all been those places that keep us from sleep We might as well face it, we all have our vices We’ve all been those places that lead us to dream I think it’s safe to say I only saw the best in you There’s no damn way in hell Anything could hide behind eyes so blue But we reached that point, We had enough and we went our separate ways And I can only hope you’d still think of me At the end of the day We might as well face it, we all have our vices We’ve all been those places that keep us from sleep We might as well face it, we all have our vices We’ve all been those places that lead us to dream I think it’s safe to say You bring out the worst in me I’ll have another drink Or maybe I’ll have another three

I’m so sick of hearing people scream When will singing be the next big thing? I can only take so many angry dudes before I wanna hear something new It’s not so hard to write a melody Beethoven did it, he’s hard of hearing Pen to paper, man, it’s so easy Why the hell does no one sing? Nobody sings anymore Raise a drink to your vocal chords Cheers to never ever getting bored Nobody sings anymore You don’t even have to sing that well Look at us - we sing like hell! This song will bite us in the ass, I think I like your band, but your screaming stinks I just can’t wait for the day to come When I’m not surprised that the words are sung I can only hope that it’s coming soon, Why the hell does no one sing?

I’ve got too much time on my hands To sit and think of the life I wish I had, instead of living it What a fool I’ve been Too much time on my hands To bitch and moan about how my life’s been going, instead of changing it What a fool I’ve been C’mon, c’mon (hey!) This could be our growing up song

I’ve been thinking about you a lot this week I miss you more than you’ll ever know Those words you said will stay with me “I’ll do it tonight,” no one thought twice How can you say that you’ll save yourself, When there’ll be nothing left to save at all? It’s been four damn years, and I miss you More with every lonely day You were stuck in that room without a friend to say “Don’t go this way” Stay with me Won’t you stay with me? I wish we took you seriously Maybe you’d be here today Your fingers shook when you told me “I’ll do it tonight,” God damn you were right. How can you say that you’ll save yourself, When there’ll be nothing left to save at all? And how can we live with ourselves? We missed the whisper and you were gone It’s been four damn years, and I miss you More with every lonely day You were stuck in that room without a friend to say “Don’t go this way” Stay with me Won’t you stay with me? Why didn’t you say that you needed my help?

about

In 2009, we recorded "swans" to wrap up our older music to focus on the new songs we had written. Those songs became this album, which we are thrilled to finally release after years of intermittent work and sitting neglected on hard drives.

This album has seen a lot of things happen -- two beautiful babies have been born, several career changes, several moves, and we've all grown tremendously as people. For us, this album serves not only as an incredible snapshot of a moment in all our lives, but a wonderful moment in the Prince George music scene that we were lucky enough to be a part of with you. Although the four of us no longer live in the same city or can play music together, this album is a nostalgic look back to when we could, and when we had the time of our lives creating music we love.

We sincerely hope that it brings as much joy to your hearts as it does ours.

Lovingly, from us to you: be a novel, not a magazine!
